The Irish Cultural Center of Western New England holds its 25th annual Lá na Gaeilge (Irish Language Day) on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event will take place in Berchmans Hall at Elms College in Chicopee, MA. It is an opportunity for those with an interest in this ancient language, which is now enjoying a resurgence, to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of this vital component of Irish culture.

Lá na Gaeilge is a unique opportunity for everyone to take part in Irish language learning. The program consists of two classes available at three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. As well as instructional classes, Lá na Gaeilge includes a choice of workshop, raffle, and a lecture by Fulbright FLTA Michaela Burke. The event concludes with music session.. Cost
$50 per person / $45 for ICC Patrons / $15 for students aged 21 and under. Includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Join us at the ICC for a Pop Up Gaeltacht on Friday, March 6 from 4:30–6:30 pm with Fulbright Irish language instructor Michaela Burke. Practice your cúpla focal just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! Our event coincides with the international Seachtain na Gaeilge festival, the biggest celebration of the Irish language across the world which takes place March 1–17 each year.

Open to anyone with an interest in the Irish language, regardless of level or ability. This is a great opportunity for people of all levels to come together and speak or listen to the Irish language with friends. Come join us – there will be caint, comhrá agus craic. Everyone is welcome – tá fáilte roimh chách!

The Irish House Restaurant and Trinity Pub bar will be open. Dinner is served from 5–9 pm. If you would like to join us for dinner, we encourage you to make a reservation– please call 413-342-4358.

It is an opportunity for those with an interest in this ancient language, which is now enjoying a resurgence, to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of this vital component of Irish culture.

Pop Up Gaeltacht

Lá na Gaeilge will take place on Zoom on Saturday, May 7 from 12:00–3:30 pm EST. We are very excited to celebrate virtually with all of you and our wonderful guests. Irish Fulbright Scholar Réaltín Mc Elhinney will host this event. Réaltín is from Inis Eoghain, County Donegal, an area which will be proudly represented throughout the program.
