Rose Boyle Named to ICC Board of Directors

Rose BoyleSpringfield resident Rose Boyle has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Irish Cultural Center of Western New England. Boyle happily committed to serving, and especially being named to the Cultural Events Committee.

Boyle was born and raised in Springfield, spending 30 years living on Hungry Hill, and still resides in the Atwater Park neighborhood, just a stone’s throw away from her childhood home. Growing up in an Irish community deeply rooted in traditions has kept Boyle connected to the culture throughout her life.

Though currently semi-retired, Boyle has always found joy in staying involved locally. In addition to her involvement on the ICC board, she is the Secretary of the Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center in Westfield, which is affiliated with the Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and is active in the Atwater Park Civic Association. When asked to put her name forward for the ICC Board, she was thrilled to accept and grateful to be voted in.

ICC President Sean Cahillane welcomed Boyle to the board that oversees all aspects of the organization, now in its 26th year.

“I foresee Rose playing a big role in the Events Committee and helping the ICC with the dynamics of opening and promoting the future Community Performance Center,” Cahillane said.

Boyle says, “I look forward to contributing to the board’s work and continuing to strengthen the bonds of our Irish-American community here in western Massachusetts.”

In 1987, she married William Boyle, and they have three adult children and one grandchild.
