Rosemary Caine was born in Ireland. After studying law at UCD, she changed course for a singing career at the beginning of Irish cultural tourism. She was recruited by Tommy Makem to come to the US to perform and tour in 1972 in The Burren Flora. She never went back to Ireland. Rosie and her husband Howard are committed community participants in the Pioneer Valley.

Rosie’s life as a songwriter and composer started after she took up the Irish Harp in 1998. She has written, produced and collaborated on five Irish themed musicals, and founded Wilde Irish Women in 2002. She is also the founding member and leader of Wilde Women Shenanigans, an offshoot of Wilde Irish Women. Learn more >

New Leaf is Kira Jewett on fiddle, Jacob Hagelberg on accordion, and Jim Bunting on guitar, vocals and bouzouki. Together they play traditional tunes with tight, driving rhythm, interspersed with Jim’s unique take on Ireland’s song repertoire.

Kira Jewett started playing classically when she was just three years old, but fell in love with the music of Ireland in her 20s and studied extensively with the virtuoso fiddler Brian Conway. She is the 2003 All-Ireland fiddle Slow Airs Champion. Singer and rhythm player Jim Bunting is an avid local session player who brings a sensitive touch and driving rhythm to the band. Jacob Hagelberg is a session musician who specializes in the B/C style of accordion. He fell in love with the music at 17, and has been playing ever since studying under Billy McComiskey and Damien Connolly.
