About the Instructors
This year’s Irish Language FLTA is Michaela Burke, who lives in Claremorris, Co. Mayo. She has a BA in Education, Math, and Irish, and is presently working on her MA in the Irish language at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, which she expects to complete in September. In addition, she plays Gaelic football and enjoys sharing Irish culture through dance, music, and folklore.
Margaret Ryan began learning Irish at the Elms in 2014 and has continued her studies over the years, graduating from Boston College this past May with a major in biology and minor in Irish Studies. At Boston College, Margaret had the opportunity to take advanced Irish language classes, attend an immersive language course in the Carraroe Gaeltacht, and coordinate a weekly Irish conversation group. Passionate about promoting and spreading love for this beautiful language, Margaret is excited to be teaching Irish through the ICC and Elms College this year.
All classes must have a minimum of five students registered to take place.
